Talking Café & Age-UK- Intergenerational Café

This week, we were thrilled to launch our Talking Café, a new intergenerational project in partnership with Age UK. We were especially pleased to welcome visitors from the Rosemary Café, a group that supports individuals living with dementia.
As part of this special event, our guests joined the children for lunch in the school hall. The atmosphere was full of warmth and conversation. The Talking Café forms part of our ongoing school focus on Oracy—developing pupils' speaking and listening skills in real-life, meaningful contexts. This unique experience allowed children to practise these skills in a purposeful and heart-warming way.
To mark World Bee Day, the children also created their own beautiful bee-themed artwork, which will be proudly displayed throughout the school as a reminder of the day and the importance of working together as a community.
We’re looking forward to more Talking Café sessions in the coming weeks, as we continue to build bridges between generations through conversation, creativity, and care.
