Lime Wood School Achieves Bexley Oracy Bronze Award
We are delighted to share that Lime Wood School has been awarded the Bexley Oracy Bronze Award, recognising our strong and sustained commitment to developing confident, articulate communicators.
During their visit, the London Borough of Bexley team commended the progress we have made in embedding Oracy across the school. This includes regular professional learning for staff and effective classroom strategies such as “Say It Again Better” and the use of sentence stems, which support pupils in expressing themselves clearly across all subjects.
The team also highlighted our creative initiatives, including Talking Tables and our Talking Café partnership with Age UK Bexley. These projects promote purposeful conversation, build empathy, and help strengthen connections across generations.
We are extremely proud of our pupils, staff, and wider community for making oracy an integral part of our school culture. This award reflects the collective effort to ensure every child can speak with confidence and listen with respect.
We look forward to continuing this journey as we work towards achieving the Silver Award.
